Recipe for Bhakharwadi

  • Besan - 100gms
  • Maida - 100gms
  • Sesame Seeds- 1tbsp
  • Coconut Grated - 2tbsp
  • Coriander Seeds - 1tsp
  • Besan - 2tbsp
  • Aamchur powder - 1/2tsp
  • Powder sugar - 2tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Hing-a pinch of
  • Ginger and Garlic paste-1tsp
  • Ankur Groundnut Oil- to fry


  • Mix 100 gms besan and 100gms maida in a bowl. Add salt to taste and 1tbsp of Ankur groundnut oil and make a stiff dough with water. Keep it aside.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of Ankur groundnut oil in a pan and add hing, ginger garlic paste, 2tbsp of besan,sesame seeds,grated coconut,coriander seeds and salt to taste. Saute for 2 min. Turn off the heat and let it cool and churn in a blender. Now add aamchur powder, powder sugar, red chilli powder and garam masala to it.
  • Now divide dough into 4 parts and roll each part to a roti. Spread 2 tbsp of dry mixture stuffing on it. Apply little oil on edges and roll it flat round. Press tightly to seal it. Now cut it into pieces. Follow same procedure for other portions of dough and stuffing.
  • Heat Ankur Groundnut Oil in a Kadhai and deep fry pieces till they turn golden brown. Let it cool and use it or store it in an air tight container.
